Manufactured by extrusion
hen we talk about silicone extrusion, we move from ‘standard’ to ‘special’ the moment a part cannot be taken from a common catalogue or requires physical properties that defy the norm.
Basically, a special part is one that is born from a specific technical plan to solve a problem that a circular cord or a normal square tube cannot solve.
The manufacture of these parts usually involves the design of a unique die or mould. It is like a ‘mould’ through which the hot silicone passes to take on that specific shape before entering the vulcanisation tunnel.
Therefore, in order to provide a quote, we need the technical drawings, dimensions and details of the part so that we can assess its manufacture and provide an accurate quote.
